The Sursock Museum and the Baalbeck International Festival have the pleasure to invite you to a fundraising auction on Tuesday 10 September at 19:00 at the Sursock Museum.
Auctioned items are a painting by Nabil Nahas titled The City of the Sun (2019), and Baalbeck sunset, a necklace designed and crafted by Selim Mouzannar.
The City of the Sun was especially commissioned for the exhibition Baalbek, Archives of an Eternity, currently on view at the Sursock Museum.
Baalbeck sunset is a pink gold necklace, with natural orange and yellow sapphires, diamonds and fire opal.
In a generous gesture, Nahas and Mouzannar agreed to auction these works for the benefit of the Sursock Museum and the Baalbeck International Festival, two cultural institutions, among many, that are facing financial difficulties today. Nahas's and Mouzannar's act of generosity will go a long way in helping the two institutions fulfill their mission and keep up their cultural programming.
